Masako Mori (politician)
is a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party, a member of the House of Councillors in the Diet (national legislature). She was elected to the House of Councillors for the first time in 2007 after running unsuccessfully for governor of Fukushima Prefecture in 2006.
She is a mother of two and a lawyer. Mori graduated from Tohoku University, passed the bar exam in 1992, then went to New York University School of Law as a visiting researcher. In 2005, she joined the Financial Services Agency and in 2006, left to run for governor of Fukushima Prefecture which ended unsuccessfully by losing to Gov. Yuhei Sato.
